0 0000757 macrumors 68040 Jan 2, 2014 #3 Who knows. I'm more concerned though it Apple will start going Mac OS 10.10, 10.11, 10.12, etc. or if we'll finally see Mac OS XI. Anyways, i'm sure they'll probably do iOS 10, 11, 12, but only time will tell.

The Doctor11 macrumors 603 Jan 2, 2014 #4 Maybe I would kinda like it. You can't have iOS 51 it just can't happen. Say goes for the iPhone you can't say your coming out with iPhone 25s it just gets old they will start naming them something else sooner or later.

maflynn macrumors Broadwell Jan 2, 2014 #5 Apple isn't using the roman numeral nomenclature for iOS so they can go to iOS 10 without causing any confusion.

SomeGuyDude macrumors 6502a Jan 2, 2014 #7 If I had to take a guess, eventually they're going to merge into one OS. There won't be distinct OS's in 5 years or so.

The fact it's got a Roman numeral in it doesn't mean anything anymore. Whenever they release 10.10, it'll be known as OS X (insert name), like Mountain Lion, Mavericks etc. Just my opinion.
