Will iphone 4 pre order be for contract only?

The unlocked iPhone 4 wasn't available for several months after the initial release, so it's not particularly surprising.

If you click "Check eligibility" or whatever and punch in your info (AT&T or Verizon), it says how much it costs to buy before [your eligibility date]... Hopefully you can indeed buy it for that much right away, else I'll be annoyed 😡
