Will iPhone 4S get handoff?

Hello everyone.
I am using an iPhone 4 but am considering buying a used 4S before iOS 8 comes out so that I can get the upgrade. But I am a bit worried that Handoff wont be available on it, from what I've seen on YouTube it has been removed with beta 4; do you think it will be available in the final release, or is the 4S not going to get this feature?

You should consider waiting until the 6 comes out, the price of 4s and the 5 will drop and you might be able to score a 5 for a good price of someone who upgrading to the 6.

That does sound like a good plan; do you think I could score one for as low as $150? That is what i was planning to spend on the 4S.

It depends on the market where you are, but usually prices go down some after a new iPhone is released because there are more people trying to sell their old phones and upgrade.

Yeah don't waste your money on obsolete tech. Hold out for the 5 or 5s.

Likely you will can bargain someone to 150 for 5, the 5 shares same specs as the 5c so expect at least 2 more IOS releases to be supported. 4s won't likely get IOS9.
 
Continuity still partially functions, handoff could potentially return to Settings.

I'm not sure getting a 4s would be a good idea though.
 
Is it re-enabled in beta 5?

The big question is, with beta 5 has Handoff returned to the 4S? Anyone tested this out yet?
 
You never get all the amazing new features with the older iPhones. If you want to take advantage of incredible new technologies like handoff, then you should definitely upgrade. Unfortunately I don't think there's any chance handoff will be in the final iOS 8 release for iPhone 4S users.

Handoff needs Bluetooth 4.0. So no; it won't work on the 4S. Neither did Airdrop for the same reason.

What's weird is that it was enabled for a the first few betas; so it seems like the 4S was capable of using Handoff, or else Apple wouldn't have put it on there in the first place.:confused::confused:

Well, the iPad 3 has built in both; the necessary wifi and bluetooth chips, but it hasn't got AirDrop.
But there was a Jailbreak tweak enabling it, so that might be the way to go for the 4S.

Handoff never worked, it was probably just code they didn't remove yet. Continuity works but not handoff.
 
Work yet?

Now that beta 5 has been out for a while, does anyone know if Handoff works on the 4S???
 
Since. There all ready a fourm that has iPhone 4s with IOS 8 and it all so talk about same stuff this fourm. Is doing. Such. Has. Handoff I have asked a mod two have your fourm moved in two that one

If true, this is awesome. All I want is the text and phone stuff synched across devices, the rest of it I never really expected to use anyway. New lease in life for my 4s!

Yeah Handoff is cool; but text and phone calls is a much more handy feature that I see myself using a LOT!
