With my installation of iWork '09, which I believe was from a DVD, the installation retained iWork '08 in a separate folder so that I still have both versions.

I'd like, at least for the time being, to keep iWork '09 while upgrading to iWork 10. (I read one article of the near complete removal of Apple scripting from iWork 10, so I'd like to keep '09 for the time being in case any other features have gone missing in action.)

What is the best practice to do this?
