Loving my rMBP and Mavericks. I'm not in a hurray to update to Yosemite. I'm still new to Mac's and I'm not sure how they handle updates to previous OS versions. Anyhow, will Apple continue to provide updates to Mavericks and any of their software that runs on that platform... Safari, Pages, Number... etc? TIA
Based on Apple's previous pattern, the iWork apps won't get any more updates. Apple has moved on to Yosemite support there. Mavericks will keep getting security updates, as will Safari, but it won't be getting any new features anymore.
As long as Apple continues security support for Mavericks, I'm sticking with it. I really hate the flat look of Yosemite. It looks like a toy operating system to me.
To each their own. It took a little time to get used the the Yosemite looks, but I like it now, and the new OS makes even my ancient 2007 iMac run zippier. Well worth the free upgrade.
Thanks guys. As long as the security updates for Mavericks and Safari continue, I'm going to stick with Mavericks for the time being. I will wait for a release or two for Yosemite before I make the plunge.
