Yes.

I sold an iPhone 6S Plus to a friend last year who has Metro PCS. Only caveat is you have to register the phone in-store before using it on the service. Weird but it works..

As long as Metro PCS has the proper carrier profile for the X. I remember Metro PCS not having the proper updates for the 6s/+ or the iPhone SE and nothing worked properly.
