I would probably connect the sound from my MBP via the Head phone out port and connect directly into the Panasonic SC-ZT1 home theatre box which controls the wireless speakers. The SC-ZT1 has HMDI, Digital & Analogue inputs and outputs

There might be a better way to do this. I'll have to do more research

Screen grabs attached..

that seems like a good way to do it, but you must make sure that there is no delay between the sound and the video (can you get to a store to test this?). what MBP do you have? a unibody with the DisplayPort? or an older one with DVI?

if you have DVI then thats great! there is no lag between sound and audio (from the MBP anyway).

if you have a DisplayPort then there is a thread going around here that says there is around 450ms lag from the audio for some reason, its a bad bug.. you would have to use VLC to change the timing of the audio playback etcetc, its a big pain.

seems like a good setup though :) very nice

I have a MBP 4,1. The last of the classic all alu MBP's before the unibody's were released. So my MBP 17 has the DVI port.

That sounds bad. The mini-display port has been an abortion since its inception. I still have flicker problems on my MP with the MDP Dual link adapter :mad::cool:

sounds terrible! you would think it would be a simple task of connecting the wires to the right thing ;) but clearly its a bit harder then that - or maybe apple just doesnt really care about it.

the Mini display port to Dual link DVI adapter is a faulty product. Its widely been reported for months ongoing and still no fix from Apple. Every 20-30 mis my 30" ACD winks/flickers at me *hmpf*

wow! that canot be good for it either! you spend all this money on it you would expect it to work...

It sounds like you have your answers on will it drive the TV, sure it will. If you are planning on browsing the web or doing email etc. the fonts will be HUGE, a good quality 1080p movie should look nice on it though.

FYI, everyone knows that only a MacBook Air will drive a monitor less than 3/4" thick......

I don't think that you'll have any trouble with getting that screen. Really nice monitors by the way. Which one do you think of getting?
