Will next Mac Pro will never arrive?

Was in shock when I read the story of Apple officially cancelling the AirPower charging mat. An accessory that Apple touted as a major selling feature of the iPhone X when I ordered mine expecting it to arrive a couple of months later.

Now with no parts leaks, rumours or even any new processes available to go in one, will Mac Pro go the same way as AirPower and be the next project Apple cancels?

[EDIT] Removed this post as it's just sarcastic snark. Shouldn't have posted it.

I really don't think it's likely. There's been Mac Pros before and they understand how to make a computer. Unless the design is yet again something radical, I think it's safe to say that we'll see a release at some point.

This is the first time a product was announced and later cancelled, so chances are actually very slim of it happening again right after this one. You know, if you want to follow that kind of logic.

If you get to the (assumed) specifics of why AirPower was (most likely) cancelled, Mac Pro is not related to that problem at all (unless it wirelessly charges along with two other devices on one charging pad).

From all indications and rumours the next Mac Pro will be modular (what ever that means) and ever other promise of a modular computer from other manufacturers never made it to market.

I just get a horrible feeling the Mac Pro is still either years away or will never happen.

Despite what people may be suggesting in regards to AirPower or MacBook Pro, Apple is still very much capable of designing challenging products like that.

It may take a long time and the first generation may suffer minor issues, but overall Apple is known for its great hardware and their engineers have made some incredible designs in the past.

It’s mostly a psychological challenge for people when Apple announces something that’s way ahead in the future. Maybe the whole secrecy thing is not so bad after all and maybe they should only do surprise releases in the store.
