I have a powerbook G4 and whenever I close the lid or manually put it to sleep it shuts down and will not wake up. The only way it will turn back on is if i take the battery out and put it back in, then it will turn on again. I've done the PMU thing (ctrl-option-shift and holding down the power button) and i've deleted a lot of software that could have caused the problem. I also had someone look at it and he didn't know, any suggestions?

You can try one of the "old stand-bys" such as zapping the PRAM (Command-Option-P-R on startup).

You might also want to do a restart without your battery inserted, try to sleep just on power, then shut down, put in the battery, restart, and try to sleep again. It may think your battery is empty.
