will older apps still work with ios7?

With the update coming out today, how does it work with apps which have not been updated to ios7 yet? will they still work or will not until they are updated, does anyone know? as I have a few apps i need and don't want to lose them if i upgrade.

Yes most apps will work fine.

Edit: As others mentioned, if there is an app that is absolutely critical - and it has not yet released a full iOS 7 update, or even a small bug fix update, then hold off on upgrading until they release updates.

Some will, some won't. If the app uses APIs that have changed, there will be problems.

Best advice is to not upgrade just yet, wait and see what others say.
