I can't understand this at all. Did you apply some kind of liquid to the screen or the screen protector before you installed it?

No liquid. Just pealed the crystal film off the plastic and let it fall into place (love that part). I thought I was good. I threw the phone in my pocked and left. When I pulled it out I thought I must had put it on very crooked. I fixed it and when it happened again I knew something was up. I'm glad that other people are not having these problems.

I think I'm going to try the other film - maybe that's the problem.

Like others have mentioned here, the static cling effect of the PS screen protectors is very strong. You either have a defective screen protector or you put it on wrong (assuming there wasn't any kind of grease on the screen either). Try the other one and I'm sure it will be much better. Then contact Apple and/or PowerSupport and explain the problem you had with the first screen protector - I'm sure they will send you a replacement.

I just tried putting a crystal film cover on my iPhone 3GS. It does OK, but it does slide around a bit. Can be frustrating. I'm still looking for the best screen cover. Does anyone know if the a sticky cover like the bodyguardz of invisible shield will peel the coating off?

Just to confirm, goughbradley, you are using the Power Support Crystal Film that is sold at the Apple Store? Or are you using a different brand?

the company says IS spray is safe, but its still an adhesive. im sure it is safe but id rather not take the chance. The static cling of the power support is fantastic, its not going anywhere, and it was way faster to apply and easier than IS. I used IS for the LIFE of my 3G, i went naked on 3GS then added the Power support crystal.

I love the crystal, its identical to naked screen, i'll venture out to say it finger prints less than the oleo screen, but you'll rub slightly harder to clean. i feel better with the film on.

My bone with the IS is two fold. I was a perfectionist putting it on, and the liquid freaked me out. you need to use a lot of it to get a good application. and two, after about 2/3 months of use the adhesive on the edges of the IS would start to get gunky, around the home button and the screen edges. IS is bullet proof, but im very happy with the crystal i added after reading the reviews here.

I use Steinheil Anti-Fingerprint

from SGP Store I love it find I get less finger prints then then the oleiphobic coating which is a coating so yes it can wear off  I highly doubt I will use any other screen protector I am do happy with the Steinheil and it was also very easy to put on! :D and no non stick issues for the most part antistatic! mild amount of adhesive used!

Well the oleophobic coating is molecularly bonded onto the glass, so i don't think a screen shield could harm it. I'm using a DLO Surface Shield on mine.

I'm trying to figure out why anyone would want to spray a liquid during the installation of a protector. This isn't like you have the surface area of a window film to deal with. If you apply it correctly there is zero chance for a bubble. Just apply the top or bottom edge and use a flexing/force motion to apply the remainder of the film onto the glass. Even pressure will force the film down and won't allow for any bubbles to develop. It's as easy as that.

application fluid it is required to install IS. I agree unless it's required, I don't see why either.

Yes, I'm using the Power Support Crystal Film that I picked up from the Apple store (~$20 CAD). Like I said above, I used one all last year on my 3G with no problems at all. It was amazing.

I tried re-applying the second Crystal Film and it works a lot better. I washed my iPhone screen with a mild soap solution (I know, probably not necessary but...), let it dry, used the dust tape that came with my crystal film to remove the dust and put on the Film with a soft cloth. The Film is now in place and doesn't move. I can get it to slide around my iPhone display if I push with both thumbs, but I've got to push pretty hard.

So, all is well for me. Thanks for the replies.

Get a screen protector. My 3GS is already scratched. :( I think the oleiphobic coating makes it easier to scratch.

I absolutely agree with this. I had invisible shield on my front. After consulting genius bar, I stripped it off after having it on for two days because I had 2g phone naked for two years and never scratched it. When I took off invisible shield, it seemed to me some of the dry smootheness of the oleophobic screen went away and it seemed to pick up smudges easier. Anyway 3 weeks later I got a small, less than 1mm hairline scratch in my 3GS screen. I take care of my stuff too so I know the oleophobic screen is less durable than the 2g or 3g screens. Either that, or mine is defective which is why the hairline scratch.

I have the anti glare on my phone now to prevent future scratches. I still have invisible shield on back. I would stay away from inv. Shield on front because the kiosk guys that install it for you do two things that are probably the worst thing you can do to an iPhone: spray mist directly onto the phone putting it at risk for water damage, and put it under a blow dryer for almost half an hour to speed up the drying process.

The anti glare sticks via static cling so I think it's safe. If you go invis. shield, I would recco. you install it yourself although I hear it's a pain to do.

I applied water to my PS crystal film when installing on my 3Gs because i kept messing up and lent would get between the protector and the screen. Once i got it perfect even with water it does not move at all. Same with my 3G.

I have the same problem as soon as i got my 3GS i put a zagg invisible sheild on it and it would reposition it was a perfect install. I also had a perfect install on my old iPhone 3G id did not slide around at all.
