The difference in size between the PSP and DS is pretty much insignificant. The PSP is .84" longer and smaller in the other two dimensions. I for one think the size is okay since it makes up for all the failings of the Gameboy which are poor screen size and resolution and crummy 2d graphics which haven't improved much since the Gameboy first came out.
The Gameboy Dual Screen has the following dimensions. 148.7mm[5.85"] (L), 84.7mm[3.33"] (D), 28.9mm[1.14"] (D)
The PSP is as follows. 170mm[6.69"] (L) x 74mm[2.91"] (W) x 23mm[.91"] (D)
In actuality the PSP is smaller.
DS total volume = 22.2 cubic inches
PSP total volume = 17.72 cubic inches
