So, I have an iPhone that has been jailbroken for some time now. I was on T-Mobile, which is why I had it jailbroken/unlocked in the 1st place. Well, I moved to the middle of nowhere and was forced to switch to AT&T for coverage. I don't mind AT&T too much, and now I've gotten used to using the Data plan for e-mail, weather, urbanspoon, and lots of other apps. Now, I'm an "add a line" customer on a friend's plan... He called me yesterday and told me to STOP using any and all data because he's being charged by the minute. AT&T says that this is because my phone is jailbroken. So, here's my question: If I plug my iphone into my Mac (which I know from experience) and it "un-jailbreaks" it (so to speak), will my data usage be covered on my friend's plan? I've been wanting to update the firmware anyway, but I knew that this would do away with all my super cool free apps I've gotten, the themes, etc. Now, knowing that I can't check my e-mail without being charged is enough of an incentive to restore/upgrade firmware and undo the jailbreaking. However, I want to be SURE that doing this will provide me with access to the unlimited data which I should be entitled to.... I will be PISSED if I undo all my cool mods and then the data still isn't covered. Please help!
