am I the only one hoping when Apple said 12 inch, it's more like 12.9 inch? ;)

kinda like 11 inch MBA is more like 11.6 inch

no, its definitely a 12.0 inch display...if you check on the apple web site, it shows that theres a 13.3 inch pro, 11.6...and then just 12 inch .....

----------

so theres actually a 1.3 inch difference between if you going from an 13 MBA..

I have been reading some people's concern on the size of the text on Retina Display on 12" Macbook. Since I will be a long hour daily user of the screen and i never own a rMBP, can someone produce a mockup screen size for us all to check? Will this be too small? I know this can be subjective but it never hurts to hear people's experiences.
It depends sister of what devices you currently use.

If it's your main desktop/laptop then Macbook 12 inch is fine.
Macbook 12 inch is perfect to pair with your iPhone.
But The big problem if you have an iPad, it will be competitive because your iPad will be too Close in size and there will be a times that you prefer to use an iPad than your Macbook.

IMO it can't be compared that way because the macbook's Retina display is high resolution. All the little details are crisp and clear, the 11" air's feels blurry in comparison.

I work on the MBP in the office and use the 11" air at home. The difference is night and day. Even iPads have a clearer resolution than the air.

Truelaley, I have macbook pro 15 inch, all together with iPad Air 2 and iPhone 7.
After i gave my Macbook pro 15 inch to my sister, i totally regret it.
And also whenever i compare my iPad Air 2 to the new Macbook 12 inch my iPad is super duper close to my Macbook 12 and it is really too small as a laptop replacement.
For those people who have an iPad the answer is NO.
The macbook 12 display will be small, especially if you use an iPad Mini or Regular Sized iPad it will be too close and competitive in size comparison. iPad Mini and iPad 9.7 inch is almost as tall as the regular Macbook 12 inch
