Yep.
My Early 2011 MBP is enough for a benchmark and hundreds of reviews from the Mac App store and online posts.
Or do you need one from Ars Technica, Tom's Hardware and the like? Those guys just do tech reviews which don't show real world performance from working professionals who use these devices everyday...doing more than sending emails and light use of Lightroom, etc.
This is coming from a pro user. But don't take my word for it, try it yourself.
ML is just like SL when it comes to speed. It looks much more polished to boot and there's a few great features like AirPlay, Messages and Notifications....which mind you, you don't have to use if you don't like them

I kind of feel bad for Windows users that they have to use "Metro UI" on a desktop/laptop. I've never seen a good Windows laptop that has the great trackpad that the MBP has. I never use Launchpad, don't see a point in it. It does look nice, but I just use Alfred (light years ahead of Spotlight).
Apple knows that a desktop is not a replacement for a tablet, so they are keeping OS X separate but using things they've learned from iOS devices to benefit the desktop users.
Lion was a good entry, but somewhat of a failure in my opinion. ML is hitting all the right notes.
what a BS post.
did geekbench benchmarking on ML compared to lion results on my RMBP. on average, no real difference. typical scores were: lion got 10911. ML got 10996. whoop dee.
