Apple seems to be big on Smart Invert, which honestly isn't much better in 11.3. But if they are going to lengths to make and improve this, do you think we will ever get a true dark mode? Or is this all we will ever get?

I honestly don’t believe dark mode is a feature that Apple is even considering. I think smart invert is there rendition of what they believe is dark mode. Knowing how Apple has a skewed logic of certain features they don’t want to have other competitors share, I don’t see dark mode ever being a reality in the way others would like it To be integrated for iOS devices.

I agree, you're probably correct. Not sure why I even want a dark mode, 5 of my 6 phones have been silver, and I have a plain white wallpaper, lol. Just looking for something fresh to play with, UI-wise.

11.3 made viewing video and images through safari compatible but other apps like Netflix don’t support it. For this to work it needs to be up to Apple to make it work with apps on the iOS.

I would love dark mode. I’m a bit dissspointed it didn’t work across the board.

Maybe if enough people clamour about it....*shrugs shoulders*

No they will half ass it like they do everything else. Including iOS 11.

It may be impossible to properly "Dark Mode" an app via the OS. From what I've gathered, the only way for apps to be dark moded is the app developers would have to provide a dark mode toggle within their app. A good example of this is the weather app wunderground.
