Will the 2g touch ever be jailbroken?

I'm pretty much over the whole hype of jailbreaking (have had my 1g jailbroken) and don't really see the point as now with the app store it's lost it's importance at least to me.

I'm having my doubts that the 2g will ever be jailbroken.

    What do you think?

    I predict it will be.
Most likely once 2.2 is released and that will probably happen at MacWorld 2009.

    ONCE.
    And only once.
    By someone in Asia.
There was a short clip of it but it didn't give much info.

I sure hope 2.2 will come out soon so I can jailbreak mine...
Having the 2.1.1 firmware is a hassle.

I am anxiously waiting for the 2g jailbreak. Not because of that Cydia crap, but because of this.

    I don't have a link.
    It's on YouTube.
I think there is a thread on it somewhere.

    Really?
Well I just took my iPod touch out of my pocket and opened the Magic 8 Ball app.
It said "As I see it, yes."
There you have it. The iPod touch knows all.:D

At the rate that the iphone dev team is moving, I doubt it. If it will ever be jailbroken, there definatly won't be a jailbreak anytime this year.

but what about the chronic team. i was looking at their google code website today and it appears as though they don't have too many things left to do, even if the remaining "goals" are the most time consuming.

    what's your opinions on that?

I'm not sure when they will Jeailbreak the 2nd gen, but I hope they do. Even though I have a 1st gen, it will just make everyone happier and jailbreak savy.

I wouldn't be surprised if by the time the 2G iPod touch is jailbroken it becomes obsolete to jailbreak.

I don't see Apple letting us theme and modify system files anytime soon...

Well not soon, but at the rate the dev team is going.
And they're still working on unlocking the iPhone 3G.
