Will the 2g touch ever be jailbroken?

I'm pretty much over the whole hype of jailbreaking (have had my 1g jailbroken) and don't really see the point as now with the app store it's lost it's importance at least to me.

I'm having my doubts that the 2g will ever be jailbroken.

What do you think?

Having the 2.1.1 firmware is a hassle.

Well I just took my iPod touch out of my pocket and opened the Magic 8 Ball app.

At the rate that the iphone dev team is moving, I doubt it. If it will ever be jailbroken, there definatly won't be a jailbreak anytime this year.

but what about the chronic team. i was looking at their google code website today and it appears as though they don't have too many things left to do, even if the remaining "goals" are the most time consuming.

I doubt it until they upgrade to the 533MZH chip if the surpass that chip then probably never.

I'm not sure when they will Jeailbreak the 2nd gen, but I hope they do. Even though I have a 1st gen, it will just make everyone happier and jailbreak savy.

Well not soon, but at the rate the dev team is going.
And they're still working on unlocking the iPhone 3G.
