The read and write speeds on the internal storage for both sizes of the X are identical. You’re only going to experience slower speeds if you manage to fill all 64 or 256 GB of storage up.

Do you have sources for that? I agree it wont be noticeable, but higher capacity drives are almost always faster.
Jk I’m wrong. The larger model will probably have faster SSD performance. I thought you were asking if the A11 would have any difference in speed. You’ll know for sure on launch day, though.

Yes, 256gb of physical memory will increase your ram and cpu performance drasticly. It will increase even more if you connect your lightning cable to a external usb drive.

Drastically? I mean I know these differences if they do exist are pretty negligible but I’m sort of regretting my choice of 64. Tbh I chose that thinking I’d have a better chance of getting it sooner.

Boy he was being sarcastic.
But maybe the 256 would be faster in ur mailbox ;)

Lol don’t pay any of them any mind. They forget they were inexperienced with things before as well and had questions lol. But to answer your question, No I highly doubt you will see any speed difference between the two :). Enjoy your new phone and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. We will help!

Oh come on. Different storage options will have faster performance? Youre sweet to treat people so kindly though.

She was very sweet! Hey, I was just mentioning something confusing in a review that I only came across bc John Gruber said it was “great”.

Probably but I don't care.

I have 2TB of movies. Don't want to waste time transferring 200GB of them vs only 50GB of data. That's where 64GB iPhone wins. Don't have to spend a longer time adding files.

Google Photos is good enough for me. And once photos and videos are uploaded, all my phones can just save it for offline viewing. It eliminates the need to transfer photos onto the computer, then sync other phones to it to transfer photos onto it. Cloud is great.

Lesser storage might not be quicker but it saves more time.

I have had questions and posted them on here, only to be ridiculed and made to feel dumb. I don’t like that, we all share the love for Apple. If someone has a question, I am going to try an answer it. Maybe in the process learn a little myself :)

So I ordered the 64gb bc that’s enough space for me but will the 256gb be much faster?

Yes it will be faster. Larger capacity SSDs are typically faster because they tend to have more parallel channels.

It depends on what you are doing. Large file transfer will be much faster. Anything not doing large sequential reads/writes will have no noticeable difference.
