Yes they will still be there... .they serve a purpose even if our feeble minds can't comprehend that purpose. Get over it and move on seam haters!

For my understanding, the joining in the seam's definition means that both edges are put together, like touching each other, or very close to each other. And in this case both edges (metal) are kept separated by the black stuff, which by the way we are not sure if it is rubber or other type of material.

It is not a line, it is a space filled with the black material.
It's not made out of wood nor vulnerable. Vulnerable to what?

What did the Kangaroo do to deserve that? Post in MacRumors?

They are seams.. the metal isn't one continuous piece. It is three seperate pieces.

You're stuck on this entire edges touching each other part. If you read enough defintions, you realize that's not the heart of the definition nor is it a requirement. As with a piece of fabric, the edges can he held together by a third bonding device such as thread, another piece of fabric, welding, or glue.

It's not a kangaroo.....

So, by accepting your definition of seams, it seems that the iPhone 3G also has a seam.
The rubber between the chrome bezel and the screen glass form a seam?

Even the gif animation name says it is a horse, it looks more like a kangaroo or llama.

Kangaroo: has 4 extremities and a tail, and can be beated on a gif animation by some macrumors members

Sure, but that seam doesn't offend the sense of style of most MR members like these seams do.
