I think it happens right before the new iPod Touch is release so probably not until July/August which is good timing for students buying computers for school.
Thats always been a part of the BTS (Back to School) special. That usually starts at the end of May or beginning of June every year. It started with the ipod minis, I think... like 2004.
If I bite on a 2011 i'll probably wait to take advantage of this. I missed it last year by buying too early as I was new to the Mac universe and knew nothing of this program.
Definitely Yes it will definitely come back, its a great way to clear out the old ipod touch inventory....
I am in the Southern Hemisphere - Our high schools start around the 1st of February, and our Universities start around the 1st of March. The 'Free iPod Touch' Promotion runs 4/1/11 - 28/3/11 here. Our iPod Touch Promotion enables up to NZ$387 of 'cash back', when purchasing a new Mac AND an iPod. The 'Free iPod Touch' concept comes from the fact an 8GB iPod Touch costs..... you guessed it: NZ$387. So you pay for both, and then you need to ask Apple for your (up to) NZ$387 back. If you're interested, here's the Ts & Cs of New Zealands promotion: http://images.apple.com/nz/promo/pdf/0111_BTU_TCs_NZ_FA_f.pdf Hope this helps! Xander
It's also on right now in Australia until the end of March. Same deal as NZ. I intend to get a Sandy Bridge MBP, and get a 32GB iPt for about 90 bucks. Sweet! I would recommend people go for the 32GB version, as the 8GB iPod is a 3rd generation product, without cameras, gyros or retina display.
What'chu talkin' 'bout, Willis? The new 8GB iPod touch is the 4th generation. It caught up this time.
Huh. It appears you are correct. I was thrown by the lack of a 16GB model. Still, I think I'll be going with a 32GB one. I have an old 2G 16GB now, and it's not enough.
may last year it was between 26th May 2010 and 7th September 2010 inclusive. 3.5 months the offer was valid for. https://input.media.euro.apple.com/uk/programmes/backtoschool/terms.html
