IM thinking of buying an imac in or around September. Ive had a look at the buying guide but as far as im aware apple usually do updates around that time? HD increases/ram?
thanks

If you can, wait for the WWDC. Many people are anticipating an iMac upgrade then.

Yeah im in no hurry. Thats in June isnt it? Surprising considering that its only been 52 days since update...
Its really because the graphics card on the low end 24" sucks and i want them to put a better one in!

I seriously doubt that there will be a new iMac before October at least. Certainly not until after Snow Leopard comes out. If I had to put a bet on it though I'd say January.

As Tallest Skill said I would not think that the graphics card in the low end iMac will be improved in the next update. I'd try and get a referb last gen 3.06Ghz iMac, or go up one model.

Huh? That was true before they got updated in Feb.--some people guessed an update wouldn't happen until WWDC.

No one knows for sure, but the past two years, the updates have been on more like a yearly basis, so it's unlikely you'll see iMac updates this fall. It's always possible, but not highly expected.

Yea Apple is saving a good amount of $$ by relying on the integrated nVidia 9400m graphics on the new low-end iMacs (versus a discrete ATI 2600Pro in the older ones which cost them extra $$) so not sure if they'll go back to discrete graphics anytime soon.

funny that can get educational prices so its a better deal but the 3.06 refurb seems even better...enjoyed cod4 on my 2.16 24" white imac so ill love it on that one! I wonder if it'll still be available in august (when exam results come out)

iMacs just got updated. So now is a good time to buy.

It won't be a surprise if the next update doesn't arrive until 2010.

The last iMac update looked like a bridge between a bigger update. Something to tide people over while they sort the real update out, which I'm guessing would be out later this year. Just my opinion.

WWDC = snow time and iphone. Speed bumps for notebooks will pop up on the apple website because it's nothing major there. No iMac action till Oct 13...watch it happen

Ah, maybe I got my information mixed up then. Sorry about that.

At any rate, if you need a good graphics card, go with the Mac Pro.
