What do you guys think? I'd like to wait until I can sell my current phone first before purchasing but if it sells out, then I'm gonna pre-order this Friday.

Have you ever seen a iPhone launch? They sell out within an hour or so every year which is why shipping dates slip. And this year of a Pandemic when there will be shortages due to that to add to it.... Really? Are you seriously asking this? lol

Just pre-order it and sell your phone after. Take advantage of your credit card's interest free grace period which, depending on your billing cycle can be 45 days. That period of time is how long you have to sell your phone with no negative repercussions to your cashflow.

Probably, at least certain models and certain carriers. In general though I bet some carrier stores and Apple Stores will have some launch day supply and hopefully they get frequent resupply... the last few years weren't bad but the question is how badly has COVID effected production? Obviously it delayed the launch by 1 to 2 months depending on model so something hasn't gone well but I'm not sure if they are fully up to steam now or it will be limited in supply because of continuing issues.

Yes I'm really asking this because I haven't purchased one on launch day since iPhone 4. Good point with the pandemic though, thanks!
