I use the camera a lot for random stuff but if I'm going to something that I know I'll want to take pictures of I bring my real camera

I have a Canon Powershot A610 that I really want to replace. It goes through batteries like crazy. Can't decide on another Powershot or wait a bit longer to save up for a Canon Rebel. In the meantime the iphone will be good enough for the random pictures I take.

It will definitely replace any camera i might buy. Number one, cameras are expensive and i suck at taking pictures, so why spend tons of money when my pictures will be half assed anyway? Number two, the quality of the camera on the iPhone 4 is as good, or better than most [cheaper] cameras and i will ALWAYS have it with me. Number three, why carry an extra camera when my phone already has a good one on it?

Well, I don't own a digital camera and suffice to say the reason is I have the best camera I would ever need in an iPhone.

Showing some shots of local outdoor floral arrangements to my uncle and he can't believe it's courtesy of my phone.

So long as there is iPhone, I will never buy a digital camera.

Lol... confused as well.. the post said p&s. I gave my canon sd780 to my 4yr daughter and I will use the iP4. Well I may pick up a canon s90 for kicks... and for those times I don't want to carry the 50D and glass.

Exactly. My G10 is capable of way more than the iPhone 4 is. (and my 40D is obviously better than both! LOL)

Still, I made the switch from the first gen iPhone to this one specifically for the camera upgrades. As another poster said, the best camera is the one you have with you, and the phone is the only thing that is ALWAYS on me. I'm impressed so far with what it can do.
