Tell me more!

I can't speak for the bugs some have been experiencing, but animations are noticeably smoother on my 6 Plus, approaching the smoothness of the animations on my 5s.

Considering the 6 Plus is running almost 4 times the pixels, I'm impressed with what I'm seeing. I suppose Apple finally got around to some optimization work.

I think you just came by to drop a bomb and run to see what happens.

My 6 and 6+ out perform my 5/5S with ease.

Your 6+ outperforms your old 5/5S in every respect? Seriously?
Sure my 6+ has a bigger screen, better battery life, a better loudspeaker and it's a bit quicker here & there, but when it comes to certain tasks it blows compared to my old iPhone 5. App and webpage reloading is much, much worse. I never had screen freezing or an occasionally unresponsive touchscreen on my old iPhones. Nor the WiFi dropouts. These negatives are major issues for me.

I don't believe that most people are having the problems that you are having with your phone. I know I'm certainly not. Maybe you've got a phone with a hardware defect.

Where did you get "in every respect", you are just starting your "stuff" to get an arguement going again. At least be accurate in your comments as you demand everyone else does.

And yes my 6 and 6+ out perform my 5/5S. If yours is not, it is YOU who are doing it wrong!

Will the iPhone 6 Plus ever catch up to the performance of the 5S and 6?

My 6+ is great. If there is lag I don't see it. So I'm not worried about it. No it's not iOS 6 smooth but it's not this disaster some people think it is.

I was much more critical about this stuff in the past but, I learned to enjoy the phone. Never crashes and has always done what I needed it do.

Never had a wifi problem. Only issue an occasional and momentary glitch when rotating to/from landscape. Doesn't happen often and it always rotates after a second

You said "My 6 and 6+ out perform my 5/5S with ease" and I asked 'in every respect?'
The Apple Genius saw my problems and stated that his 6+ does the same! So who is right here, me and a Genius....or you?
It astounds me when people claim that their devices don't exhibit recognised issues!

I suspect the Apple people know you by now. My 6 or 6+ has not had the numerous problems that yours seem to have!:p

I've been into Apple with it twice for the same problems. It just doesn't perform like an Apple product should ya know?
The Genius stated that more people come back with faults relating to the 6+ than they do with the standard i6. His take was that it's software...

I just bought a 6+ from the apple store over the weekend and sold my launch day 6.

I am not seeing any lags or differences in performance. I did some side by side testing and everything seemed the same. Now I don't have any extreme graphical games but safari, numbers with large spreadsheets, etc. all seem about the same.

The 6 is a great phone but I am really enjoying the 6+ larger screen and longer battery life.

I understand you have had problems but I have not experienced the same.

If it will make you feel better, This was just posted to Engadget:

"If you feel that Apple is upgrading iOS a little too quickly, you're not alone -- there are concerns (if sometimes overstated) that it's focusing too much on interface revamps and extensions over making things work well. There may be relief in sight, however. Sources for the historically reliable 9to5Mac claim that iOS 9 will have a "huge" emphasis on behind-the-scenes fixes and performance optimizations. That's not to say there won't be any spiffy new features, but this could be more of a tune-up (in the vein of OS X Snow Leopard) than a breakthrough release. Apple likely won't confirm anything until its next Worldwide Developer Conference sometime in mid-year. If the tipsters are on the mark, though, the new iOS could be good news for anyone who feels that Cupertino hasn't been living up to its "just works" reputation as of late".

Hi,

I use both a 6 and a 6Plus and I don't see any differences in terms of performance (not considering gaming, as I don't play).

Believe me when I say that 8.3 has really improved the performance of the 6 Plus!
It's definitely not placebo; I have noticeable improvement across the entire system.

I have noticed that there is definitely a difference in the smoothness and responsiveness of the 5S and the 6 when compared to the 6 Plus. it isn't a massive difference but its threes a difference for it to be noticeable.

i wasn't sure if this is just because of the OS or the fact that the hardware inside the iphone 6 plus is not sufficient to run the 1080p display its packing.

What do you guys think?

I've noticed slight drops in frame rate when quickly scrolling through long screens like safari windows and my notification center. Nothing major though. It's a lot of pixels to manage and I've seen this on all comparable sized phones.

Yes but how's your battery life? 8.1.3 was noticeably worse on my 6+ than 8.1.2

It does appear that there are some issues. Couldn't get rid of this without a full reboot.
