Will the iPhone 8 be the heaviest iPhone yet?

It might be the heaviest iPhone, but compared to the first mobile phones,no iPhone is in any way heavy.
If you need to see what I mean, look up the now obsolete Ericsson NMT 450 phones. Was kind of heavy things.

The heaviest iPhone to date was the 6s+. Since the body will be closer to the size of the non-plus models, I'm going to say no, the iPhone 8 won't be the heaviest ever.

Not sure why no one has brought this up yet, but the frame is going to be made of steel. For that reason it most definitely will be the heaviest phone since the iPhone 4S. Not sure what the weight was pre-iPhone 5.

Also, general components would dictate it may be marginally more heavy than previous phones as well. ~15-20% bigger battery due to L shape add-on, which is due to stacked logic board. Other tech additions maybe adding a negligible amount of weight.

I am also assuming we're ruling out the Plus models, which are bigger and heavier, than the standard models.

What some are forgetting is that the iPhone 8 is rumored to have a stainless steel body. Regardless of the size difference between the plus variant and the 8 I would expect the 8 to be heavier then the plus if it is indeed made from stainless steel. The iPhone 4 was a heavy phone and that only had to hold a 3.5" screen.

True! The stainless steel will likely contribute to most of the weight gain though. Haha who knows though, they might pull an Essential phone move and have a frame made from titanium. They had powerbooks in the past made from titanium so they are no stranger to the material.

Look if Samsung can do Apple should be able to do it. Apples engineering just sucks sometimes. Take a S8+ apart and see how Samsung did it and re-engineer. The S8+ and iPhone 8 should weigh about the same.
