Gemma 4 is pretty impressive on lower end hardware, but yeah this wasn't really designed for that. 12GB RAM will go a long way.

The issue what that article is they assume that production stopped back in 2024 for that A18 pro chip. Tear downs have already confirmed the A18 pros used in the neo were made in Late 2025, well after they stopped making the 16 pro series. So no, i don't think it will come earlier than already planned. Apple is not completely shielded from ram and ssd shortages either, i think thats more of the bottleneck than chip productionAlso neo 2 might come sooner than expected.

There is even an unboxing video lol. It is not even out yet.

I think there’ll be annual refreshes, although with minimal changes, perhaps just moving on one generation of iPhone chip.
However, I think the main headline grabbing change will be new colours each year, which Apple can do with minimal investment while still keeping it interesting.

I decided i will be upgrading yearly, so i can put last years model in each of my 3 sons hands and my gf.
The neo is a laptop, but such a amazing one, the fact it`s fanless, very capable of all my needs, i want to experience the full growth path of this platfform the next few years and give everyone i love a capable laptop they will enjoy using for school/work.
