you got a bum phone OP. What's the problem!? replace it.
I have a 1G iPhone. and 2 of my friends have 3G iPhones. Their screens don't look any different from mine.

Would everyone just stop naming the display's "2G display" and "3G display"? I've seen a lot of 2G iPhones and they all had different displays. Some iPhone displays are more yellow, some are more blue (all 2G). You can't compare the "3G display" to the "2G display" because there simply aren't 2G displays and 3G displays. There are just different displays, that's all.

I wonder if he finds it odd that all the 'yellow screen' posts are 8 months old.

I further wonder if he might have considered that the problem, as such, was localized and is no longer an issue.

You (and most other average-users) have become accustomed to the off-color, and you never saw an iPhone with a correctly colored screen/display to compare it to....

It is too bad that very few people actually attempted to answer my original query. instead I was attacked by the faithful....which is why, even at Macrumors, the most popular Mac/Apple forum there is, often times the power of group-think, money, and allegiance dominate over the power of truth.

You think I am making this all up in my head?

1. GOOGLE: IPHONE YELLOW SCREEN!
2. GO TO APPLE'S DISCUSSION FORUM AND SEARCH: iPhone yellow screen.

Even though Apple has been deleting iPhone yellow screen forum post left and right you can still find dozens and dozens of interesting threads to read.

I could care less how most you iPhone-bots shape your all-too-predictable "arguments" against my original contention...This message is mostly for people who are searching out the truth on this subject, not the glazed-eyed faithful who are trying to protect Apple from yet another CAL.............

Guh, it's just a slightly warmer color temperature.

It's not worse, it's just different. The only time you can notice it is if you hold it up against an EDGE iPhone.

It's not that big of a deal. You act like the screen looks like monochrome yellow and black.

No, it is quite yellow-ish.

Really, how hard could it be to put some type of simple, 3-choice calibration scheme in the phone?

Like: 1.) Cooler 2.) Mid-range 3.)Warmer

especially seeing as there are literally hundreds if not thousands of websites, forums, discussions, etc. that point to a yellow screen, one that most people who ever saw or possessed a "good" iPhone/iPod touch screen find to be inferior to the "blue" tinted screen first used by Apple in these devices.

BTW, it is not just a tint issue...the yellow screen is inferior in other ways too, like sharpness, contrast and clarity

You are welcome to return your iPhone if you are dissatisfied with its display color temperature. If your screen is not sharp and lacks contrast, then your phone is defective.

Dude. Seriously. Chill out. How do we know what Apple is doing to the next iPhone. It's all speculation until it comes out. I like how yellow my screen is on my first gen and also how yellow my screen is on my iPhone 3G. My iPod touch however, has a blue tint to the screen and I think it's too cold looking. Instead of making such a big deal over it, just wait and see what happens. You make it sound like we have all the answers for you. We have opinions, but all of our opinions are wrong in your eyes, so therefore we cannot help you.
