Will the original Apple Wireless Keyboard (the one with white plastic keys in a clear plastic shell - A1016) work with a Late 2009 Mac mini on El Capitan?

Thanks!

If you already have the keyboard, try it.

If you DON'T have the keyboard (haven't bought it yet), I suggest you try a WIRED keyboard instead.

It should work fine. I've used one of those keyboards with a 2009 Mini in the past, but not with El Capitan.

We've been trying. The keyboard flashes a green light meaning it's discoverable but the Mac mini does not discover it.

Thank, I'll keep trying.

Eventually it paired!

The batteries leaked in my (I think) fourth generation Apple Wireless Keyboard and I really didn’t want to spend £100 on a replacement Apple keyboard right now (not sure what will unfold in the next days in London and what I might need money for). This original Apple Wireless Keyboard came with my mother’s now defunct iMac G5 and will keep me going for a while.
