green light indicates fast charging compatible! Red light indicates slow charging compatible only

Fast charges both iPhones backside down with green light.

but only the pro Max will indicate slow charger only compatible red light face down! So it is detecting the bilateral charger at 5watts only?

Go try for your self! I don’t know to much about this, but why does the slow charge only activate with the Pro iPhone?

i just thought this was odd, and very strange. So I figured I’d ask on here.

Hasn’t this already been discussed over and beyond? Bilateral charging or whatever Apple decides to call this, isn’t a feature for 2019, that’s a 2020 feature easily to be saved for next year. Apple likely rationed that feature likely on purpose, as that’s traditionally what they tend to do. This year was all about the camera.

iFixit thinks it 'might' have it based on their teardown. It could be a big feature they want to save for 2020 or, if 2019 sales are slow they are all suddenly "Hey y'all! We've just enabled this new feature, go buy the phone!"

But if sales are good then save it for next year. Heres some insider info. 2020 iphone will feature bilateral charging AND an upgrade to the camera of some description. Shhh, dont tell anyone!

The iPhone 11 was never supposed to feature wireless charging, only the Pro.

Both phones wirelessly charge just fine. Only the Pro iPhone detects 5W charge capability with the screen face down.

8.1 vs. 8.3mm thickness

if that were the case my wireless charger would flash in a different sequence, indicating something is blocking the fast charge capability like dirt or debris on the charger.

it is acting as if it is charging fine but only supports the 5W feature screen down.

i dunno what this means. Maybe it has the hardware for bilateral charging in the iPhone Pro but it is simply deactivated for charging watches and AirPods. But a charger still detects it as 5W compatible.
