I just got an iPhone X from the Apple Store (UK) a few days ago.

I plan to use it aboard (going back home after graduation) and am wondering if the law still covers overseas.

I don't believe so.

The Apple warranty does, but UK consumer law only applies when you're in the UK. I had my Australian 5S replaced at 3 years old (Australian consumer law is 2 years) due to it continually cutting out randomly...

The CRA2015 is really mis-understood, just so you’re clear.

The consumer rights act of 2015 doesn’t allow you to return the phone after 2 years when it develops a fault and you walk away with a new one.
There is a burden of proof that does fall on you after 6 months.

So I wouldn’t personally let this be a deciding factor of buying any product.
