I just got an iPhone X from the Apple Store (UK) a few days ago.

I plan to use it aboard (going back home after graduation) and am wondering if the law still covers overseas.

Maybe when you get back home but not while outside your country. It will be covered under Apples warranty.

    I don't believe so.

The Apple warranty does, but UK consumer law only applies when you're in the UK. I had my Australian 5S replaced at 3 years old (Australian consumer law is 2 years) due to it continually cutting out randomly...

NOT. The UK consumer laws do not work in America or anywhere outside the UK likely.

The CRA2015 is really mis-understood, just so you’re clear.

The consumer rights act of 2015 doesn’t allow you to return the phone after 2 years when it develops a fault and you walk away with a new one.
There is a burden of proof that does fall on you after 6 months.

So I wouldn’t personally let this be a deciding factor of buying any product.
