I didn't say it was pointless, but the OP didn't invite people to discuss and speculate, he specifically asked if something was true. We don't know yet. That's the only honest and truthful answer to the question that was asked.
Gee.... Thought I said we won't know for another week in my answer. Oh well, must have read my own message wrong.

Didn't realize only honest and truthful comments are allowed here. Aweful lot of claims made for devices that would surely stretch that rule.

I heard a rumor that when the iPhone 7 comes out, it will not have a 16GB option available? Is this true?
Well, it's a rumor. What does that say about it being true or not? Pretty much nothing one way or the other.

I hope there is a 16GB version just to see how annoyed people get.
Sadist..........another year of moaning about too little memory! Reminds me of those long lost "too little RAM" discussions.

2 Verified Facts:

  1. There will be plenty of 16GB phone available for some time now. (Just NOT of the iPhone 7 variety), but there will certainly be a buyer's market for 16GB devices.
  2. Ain't no way Apple is gonna increase prices on what they have to know is going to be a lackluster upgrade and sales quarter/year. Maybe next year, but iPhone 7 will keep the same price point.
Verified by "insiders familiar with the matter." ;)

There will not be a 16GB iPhone 7. To make up for loss profits the 128GB will be the new mid range model while the 256GB will take over the top spot.

I personally will buy the 32GB iPhones 7 plus because I have 64GB iPhone SE. My iPad Air 2 will be on the selling block.

I doubt Apple will charge more than $1000 for the 128gb, maybe for the extra profit but wow.

My 128GB 6S Plus was $949.

I don't take people's intentions for granted online specifically because of how many years I've been doing this. Might want to take a look at my 6 years and 1600 likes on this site alone. Not sure why you got so bent out of shape about it.

I've been here since 2007 with 516 posts, what is the point?

I also think that introducing the 256GB will make customers more acceptable of the granted storage space as the years go by. I'm left with 10GB left out of my 128GB..

Yes you will say some people don't need that much, but some do and that's why they buy these specced devices. I think it's great to have a better understanding of how much newer tech does take up, 4k, etc. It's not a big deal with people buying 16-32GB phones, but well they look for the closest price to their needs and then they "expect" an iCloud solution for storage on the "cloud" as they think that's "so free, so easy to do". Lots of misunderstandings.

To be honest I doubt they will add 256 gb.

I'd say 32,64,128 and maybe 256 only on the plus or some exclusive model.

Too early to introduce 256 from my perspective.
