Will there be more customizable build-to-order options for the Macbook?

Right now I'm just seeing two standard ones - no ability to build/customize.

Will this come closer to April 10th?

Both models can be upgraded for example to the 2.3 Ghz dual core

I'm not convinced there will be any new options available for upgrading them to be honest.

I'm guessing the previous poster was referring to the 13" retina MacBook, not the new 12" one.

I think you have to keep in mind the target market of this new model of laptop - it reminds me very much of the direction in which the iPad for example has taken. If you're the kind of user who cares that much about specifications you're probably not the target audience for this laptop.

With that said, it's certainly still a very powerful machine and I don't think you'd be disappointed with it, so long as the screen resolution (effectively 1152x720) is sufficient for your needs. It's a tad low but about right based on Apple's current lineup for a 12" laptop (though I wouldn't mind if they raised it a touch ^^).

You will be able to upgrade the processor to 1.3 GHz on either configuration, but that's it.
