It's completely unreasonable, unfounded, unrealistic bs to expect the iMac to come with PS5 tech.
A 6600'M' has been leaked. ie. A 'Mac' version in much the way the 5600'm' is a custom 'Mac' version.
But which Mac will it go into and when.
It's not unreasonable or unrealistic to expect better iMac gpus. Apple charges top dollar and PCs for half the price have better gpus. We should expect Apple to keep timely, update to computers to match their marketing voodoo and boasts...and hold their feet to the fire on out of date drive tech' and paltry 8 gigs of ram. None of those two are fanciful at £1750 and £1950 and higher priced tiers.
Whether we get better gpus (or any other spec) is another matter (and we can point to Apple history to see if or when this has ever been the case. `The only time the iMac had desktop grade gpus is in the iMac Pro with superior cooling. Or in terms of the consumer iMac, the 2012 was a good year with the 680MX and that was a laptop part.)
Sony will sell the PS5 hardware at a loss, probably. But the PC and Mac will have RDNA2 tech' available at some point. (Or not with the AS and unique APPLE dGPU on a very close horizon...) A tower PC will easily accommodate big Navi. The iMac. Maybe it 'could' do it with superior cooling. Or at the least it will get the '6600M' at some point, perhaps as a BTO option.
Maybe that part will be reserved for the iMac Pro. IF that machine will come at all in light of a transition that is imminent.

59.7 billion in revenue and no new iMac? Amazing. You could think that 0.1 billion investment (I assume this is sufficient) in a new iMac is not too much to ask for.
Aye.
Pathetic.

i would be shocked if we get RDNA2 pretty sure its a pipe dream. Apple always uses older GFX cards stuff thats cheap for them to mass buy
The tech' press never call Apple out on this. Maybe don't want to lose their review machines.
RDNA2 is coming.
But whether it comes to the iMac or iMac Pro is another thing. (Just look at the state of the current iMacs.)
There appears to be a '6600M' RDNA2 'MAC' part. But which Mac. When. If ever.

iPhone delayed which is the perfect timing for iMac in Sep with RDNA2
😀 😀 😀

So yeah, Sep it is
😀 😀 😀 😀
- Project supply of September releases to be available "a few weeks later."
- As such, the "product mix" for the September quarter will be different
The timing would make sense.
The RDNA2 is 50% more efficient. So it would suit the iMac in some form. Ergo. The 6600M part that has been leaked.
What I think is reasonable and 'makes sense' and what Apple do to their iMacs doesn't appear to line up.
However, I don't think having better cooling, an SSD, 16 gigs of ram, a bezel trim with a gpu that isn't 3 years old is unreasonable or fanciful.
