then why did it work fine on my 15" old samsung LCD? and why does it work fine on the tv. is the VGA cable for the xbox suddenly broken, i will know when i go to the store. and for the record it didn't do any of this on my normal 20" sony tube flat tv. any ideas.purelithium said:

no, HD is defined by resolution. anything over a certain res is considered HD. if it has a HD sources driving it. the 360.generik said:

Take the 360 in, and test it with a bunch of monitors, if the same thing happens, I would check the VGA cable, and if that's not it, I would investigate the console itself.

k, Yup, i will do that, just thought maybe someone else had this same problem and possibly found a way to fix it in the xbox/monitor settings. I guess i will go back to the store. just annoying i paid like 30 or 40 bucks for that adapter and its already shot? pins are fine on it. i will do this tomorrow night hopefully. work + hockey + band practices =no time for computer crap and hw. lol.
