EDIT: It will. From the tech spec on Vivitar's web site it supports Mac OS 9 and later.

It's probably USB and therefore ought to work fine. Even if iMovie doesn't recognize the camcorder, as long as OS X mounts the camcorder as a removable hard drive you'll be fine with just transferring the videos over (it's mpeg 4 after all).
