I am thinking about getting one of them Lacie 1TB Thunderbolt Drives for my 2011 Thunderbolt iMac. I am wondering if I can install the operating system and all my stuff onto it, and use that as my my main HDD to run off of as opposed to the slow one that comes installed in the machine. Will this give a speed boost? Will it work? Will the machine blow up?

Thanks

I do believe this will work, my uncle is doing it right now! Definitely increased speed, and so far so good on the explosion side of things :p
