Will Thunderbolt Display work with an iMac without Thunderbolt, but Minidisplayport ?

    Thunderbolt also supports Minidisplay port, so an iMac from 2010 with Minidisplay port would work with a new Thunderbolt Dsiplay, right :confused:

    I'm assuming the video would output fine, but you wouldn't be able to use the ports built into the display.

    I wouldn't assume that. Apple's web page specifies only the current TB-equipped Macs as compatible. Doesn't at all state the non-TB Macs can use it as a display only.

    Until someone can actually try it, I would NOT assume it'll work on anything but a TB-equipped Mac.

    As of now, Apple STILL sells the non-TB 27" Cinema display, BTW.
