I have the latest SR MBP, 2.2, and I love the ram in it, but was wondering since ram isn't that pricey, will putting another 2gb in it make a big difference in speed?

Alot of people say no. I call BS.

Yes it does because I have done it. 4GB is the way to go. Espically if you are using PPC apps like Office which emulate with Rosetta, Run Virtual Machines like XP or Vista in Parraels...

More Ram = Better always. And 4GB is only $300 now from Crucial. Im sure its cheaper elsewhere....

i thought MBP run on pc5300 not pc5400..?

anyhow..i'm in the same boat. I just went from a 12" pb to a 2.2 mbp but after using it for a project i was 2:1 pageins to pageouts. Sure beats my 1:1 pagein/pageout with my pb but still. I'd buy more ram if I saw a good deal i think.

PC2- 5300 and 5400 are all the same modules and run with the same speed but different manufacturers like to label their product bit differently. 667 x 8 = 5336; so some round up to 5400, just to make their products seem like they're a bit more than they are.

It depends on what applications that you are using /planning to use. 4gb ain't gonna make Firefox any faster.
