If you are happy keeping your laptop plugged in all the time then it doesn't matter because even when the battery is dead you'll still be able to use the laptop plugged in. You probably won't even notice.
I've used laptops plugged in which didn't even have a battery.

I realize this is an old thread, but I wanted to add my two cents. I have a 2013 MacBook Pro that has over 2000+ cycles on its original battery, and still runs like a champ. Holds a charge for 2-4 hours of use depending on what I'm doing. Although I just bought a new MacBook Pro this year.

I would run the battery down to 40% then charged to 80% a couple times a day. Then 1-2 times per week I charged it to 100% and let the battery go pretty much completely dead. I used my MacBook Pro every day since 2013. People are still surprised to hear that the batter still functions at over 2000 cycles.

My return on investment on that laptop was more than any other work tool I've ever owned. I have a feeling my next Apple Silicon MacBook will do this same, and I can't wait to buy one.

I'm on battery almost 100% of the time. Check my cycles and battery health.
