I'm sure that the jailbreak community will find a way, but stock Apple TV I'm seriously doubting it.

I am sure that Apple would NOT allow this, right out of the box. Why would they?

Why would you even want to? The ATV remote is going to have a built-in touch pad and microphone, so you will lose a ton of functionality just missing those two items.
