Not likely. Watch to watch? That makes little to no sense for a vendor. Be miserable for scanning barcodes, entering purchase and customer info.

For the iPhone or iPad? Very likely Apple will open the NFC API for iOS9.

So maybe I'll have to upgrade my iPhone 5 to receive payments. Decisions, decisions.
 
Watch, maybe not. The iPad looks more likely right now, since the latest iPads were spotted to have inactive NFC chips

IPad supports ApplePay in apps.
The inactive NFC chip was required because it is used for the secure element.

Yeah, I was thinking that before. Be good if you can transfer funds between accounts that way.

Eg. You're at the amusement park with your kids. Tap them some funds, let them be on their way.
