Will Xcode install your app for testing on your device permanently?

Simple question. After you sign up for the developer program, grab the certificate, sign your app, and compile it and run it on your device for testing, will it remain there after you disconnect it from your computer? Or does it only run on the device as a testbed, and when you disconnect the device it disappears?

I haven't actually signed up for the developer program yet, so I was just curious about this this actually works. I'm hoping it will just install it on there so you can take the phone around to other locations and test it without being tethered to a computer.

Once the app is installed on your device it stays there and can be run like any other app with an untethered device. The signing of the app will expire at some point though and the app won't run after that. I'm not sure if it's three months or six months or a year or when your subscription expires.
