If a 5.5" iPhone is introduced, I will most likely pass on it. I'm sure I'll go for the 4.7" model instead. I also have no intention of selling my rMini.
There is always the segment who will be upgrading old equipment, like me, who don't fall into the cannibalizing category. My Droid HD is getting old and I don't like the quirks that Android has. When I purchased it I was also looking at an iPhone and the Note so I may just buy the new, big iPhone this time.
Especially since Android became buggered with a battery draining bug in KitKat with no firm eta for a fix.
I'm just happy that Apple is releasing a 5.5 iPhablet to counter the phablet crowds. That sure will stop them criticizing. I feel bad for the competition, they have NOTHING to say now. LOL Apple sees $$$$$$ in the future.
Right now I have a simple laptop smart phone scenario. I'd like a phone closer to a moleskin notebook size. That's it. The iPhone could very well replace any need for an ipad if the apps are designed to take advantage of the size. Web surfing? Not really. But flipboard, games and social media are fine on the iPhone. I can't decide if 4.7 or 5.5 is better for me. I'd need to take a look at them in person.
I don't think I fit into your poll. I intend to only sell my 5s to put money towards a new iPhone 6 5.5" which I'm hoping won't be a whole load more expensive than previous iPhones. Put it this way, I'm not spending more than £600 on a phone, that sort of price is outrageous.
Of course. iPhone 5s is ridiculous in size by now. iPad mini Retina is just lame and counterproductive. I only own it because iPhone 5s size is a joke. A smaller but 5.5 inch device is much faster to type on than a mini. Also, it is much better to hold and sit with for a long time. Despite a smaller screen, the experience is twice as good.
I won't be doing too much. I don't know if I'll get a new iPhone this year. I'm really quite in love with my 5c. My Note 3 serves well as my tablet. I've got a pretty comfy set up.
I had a 5s and I just don't like the feel of it. If the 6 feels the same or lighter... well... I think I'd pass.
Whether I buy one or the other or both or heck even all four devices expected to be released (iPhone 4.7", iPhone 5.5", iPad rMini 2, iPad Air 2) or perhaps none at all will depend on the individual devices' merits and how they're going to benefit me. In other words, I'm waiting for the keynote(s) before deciding.
I am eyeing they 5.5 as my preferred device over the 4.7 but it will come down to final form factor. I will not be getting rid of my iPad Mini, the difference isn't huge but is certainly enough to keep around for games. I'm into Clash of Clans right now and the bigger screen makes a massive difference.
