How does the refund work do you need to ring and does it come back as 100 in your account? As i’m Aware you can’t transfer the payment to the new phone?

You cannot. You have to call apple and they refund it to your card.
Not too bad then, I guess 100 quid for the year isn’t bad. I’;m tempted this year as I damaged my lens on my max which cost me 150 quid alone via insurance and without my phone insurance i would have been looking at over 200 quid so for peace of mind seems reasonable.

I’m on IUP, so apple care + comes as part of the package and I rock my phone without any cases so it’s extra handy.

I have AppleCare with my phone insurance plan and if not I would have bought it. $29 vs $329 for screen replacement and $99 vs $599 for other repairs. Even with my insurance I'm paying a $280 deductible. So $29 vs $280 - $329 for a cracked screen. I don't think this is a hard choice to make.

I use AppleCare+, with the price tag on these phones nowadays, and like you said, the cost of a repair justifies the cost of the insurance. With that being said, I do not go for the theft and loss option. Luckily that’s never been an issue for me. Anyway you look at it it’s a gamble. The added insurance is nice to have if you need to use it, but you are taking a chance and you may never have to use it.

Sadly no theft option here in UK

I don’t think so. Getting the 11 and the difference is 1/3 extra per month
- iPhone payments 24 months £30pm
- IUP (with AppleCare) 20 months £40pm

also I checked and my household insurance has accidental damage cover both in and out of home. Excess is higher but that’s ok.

Really? I didn’t know that. I would think that would be a big deciding factor for a lot of people. I’m pretty good with my phone I guard it as much as I guard my wallet, so for me not really, but I can see where that would be big for a lot of people

No pay monthly option either which is surprising.

No, don’t tell me I have to come over there and set some people straight. LOL. The payment plan is nice I guess but it works out to be a little bit more expensive, and here in the states you’re also taxed on each payment

Will not be getting it. I have free credit card insurance that pays up to 650 for damages. Worked like a charm when I needed to use it.

when you’re potentially paying thousands for an iPhone, you might as well get the insurance too

I don't understand what they refund you/how much if you have been paying for it monthly.

It costs almost 300$ here in Austria, hence NO.
A display protection and the apple leather case are my „insurance“ and this one makes only 60$.

Never purchased AC+ on the iPhones I've bought (too many to count) and probably never will. IMO, it remains expensive insurance. Unless you're someone who knows with a high degree of likelihood that you will need to use it, I think it's much better to self insure against the unlikely event you damage the phone.
