Not at all... I’ve loved the swipes and gestures to move around in both webOS and BlackBerry OS, so cant wait to get rid of the home button. Feels so much more fluid.

It seems like the swipe from bottom has to potential for RSI on your thumb.

Thanks for that, I needed a laugh. How on earth can a simple swipe with virtually no pressure be worse for you than having to constantly physically press a button?

I hope when you unlock with face I'd you don't have to swipe up every time I'm sure they will fix this in a future iOS version.
you'll have to swipe up so often while using the phone that the part about swiping up to open is going to be completely normal feeling.

swipe up to go home while using the phone.. swipe up to go home while not using the phone.

I won’t miss Touch ID. It worked flawlessly when my fingers were dry, not in gloves, and prints had no scratches. I am the cook and all around repairman in my house and those things hampered Touch ID.

You know what, I must say that I’m looking forward to not needing to pull off a glove in the winter to press the home button or enter a passcode.

I think I will miss it for a week or so, just so use to hitting it and all. It will be different, but sometimes change is good :)

Let me rephrase what I typed earlier.

I won't miss that archaic, physical home button that wears out over time and have that annoying Assistive Touch there to lessen the presses, but I will miss Touch ID.

Anytime I am geared up like Rey in the beginning of The Force Awakens and want to check my Chase bank account since I normally use debit, I have to type out the entire password again.

Touch ID could have just been implemented on the power button the way Sony and LG does it. I feel bad for actors, actresses in prosthetics, Halloween goers, cos-play, Eskimos, snowboarders, skiers, etc.

Gotta unmask for a few secs to unlock phone. Even if passcode is used, the bank apps or private note apps can't be used with Face ID.

I already knew using my Chase app again would be a problem with Face ID. Will probably only check it on my Androids or SE now. X is a no-go for that stuff.

I don't think I'll miss it. It's (up to the 6S) a mechanical component that most people use hundreds of times a day, and thus has greater chance for failure (my 3GS home button became less reliable towards the end of the time that I had it, and home button failures seemed to be a huge problem on older iPhone models). Android took the first step with making the home button virtually rendered on the display, Apple is just taking it further by basically allowing that "button" to disappear below the screen by making it a gesture.

No

The home button is a pain big time since iOS 11 where sometimes takes time to even open or wake up

Bring on face ID

The lack of the home button and TouchID are the main reasons why I decided to go with the 8+ in the end.
People say that they're used to no home button from Android, but don't all Android phones have virtual home buttons at least? I'm not sold on swiping as being better than tapping.

It’s possible down the road in a future update (say 11.2, 11.3, 12.0 and so on) could implement 3D Touch on the Home Bar for further functionality. Giving swipe gestures + two levels of press.

It's going to take a few days to get used to not having the home button for sure. WE are all going to be pressing the screen quite a few times lol but like everything else, we'll get used to it.

I won't say it doesn't make me a bit uncomfortable b/c I've been using a home button for 10 years. I'm sure I'll get use to it quickly. The hard part is getting my muscle memory use to the face my phone and iPad don't work the same again. I went though this when Touch ID came to iPhone and still wasn't on the iPad -- I kept trying to unlock my iPad by touch. A second later -- to myself: "duh."

I doubt that will happen before iOS 12, at the earliest.

Yup same. If you work on anything with your hands Touch ID is horrible. Being an artist and handyman if there is a project unlocking my phone is a pain.

Agree I think they should have an accessibility option for those that don't use the lock screen.

Similar to the rest finger to open.

could be open with face id

Open iPhone with Face ID, without having to swipe up on the lock screen.

and no I won't miss touch Id. it always has issues unlocking, will be so great to have the phone unlock without touching it

I won't miss Touch ID at all. It has always been hit and miss for me especially if my hands were perspiring which happen a lot. Plus in winter when wearing gloves and having to take one off to unlock the phone. I embrace and I am looking forward to Face ID.

Maybe. I won’t know until I use the X for awhile, but I have used a home button for 9 years, so I am thinking it will be a few weeks of annoyance until I get used to it. I am happy that applying a screen protector is about to get loads easier.
