To the topic now...I never owned an iPod touch but late August im purchasing one for my gf...Many say wait for the 5G to come out...i think im buying the 4G one..it has the facetime camera that we both need and it will run on iOS 5(iMessage etc) so there...

It would be pointless to upgrade from a 4g ipod touch(assuming its a minor update)

However not everyone is upgrading with 4g.

However it would be about time to upgrade from 1g,2g or even 3g.

I'm not sure yet.

If the camera is upgraded to 3GS or IP4 specs, then I'll upgrade in a heartbeat. Also, if they double the RAM to 512MB like the IP4 I'd instantly upgrade. However, I see no reason to upgrade other than that-- my 4G works fine enough.

if ive got money for a ipodtouch then i would get an iphone 5... but keep my 3g touch... mainly becuz my phone contract ends mid october... unless the ipod touch is tootaly epic compared to phone

I'm most likely going to sell my 4th gen to a friend of mine for a slightly reduced cost right before the new ones come out and upgrade to the 5th gen. Especially if there's a white model.
