Simply. Amazing.

This is the greatest sporting rivalry I have ever known, and it is only right that Rafa gets his name on the Wimbledon board as a testament to the way he has changed tennis.

Long may this rivalry continue, and congratulations to the mighty Spaniard.

Congrats to Nadal for the incredible win. Today's match along with the 1980 Wimbledon Final are probably the two greatest tennis matches ever played.

Federer and Nadal served up ( ) a classic match, and even the weather had the good grace to include two breaks for me to go and put the kettle on!

Why don't people (here) like Federer?

I personally have no dislike for him, but the amount of hype around "King" Roger as clueless Sue Barker kept calling him really gets a bit much.

Also watch his post-match interview with reporters (not the one on court) and see how little "grace in defeat" he can muster. He wasn't beaten because the light was bad, as he claims…

A little humility goes a long way… ;)

It's certainly up there.

Many newspapers tomorrow will no doubt say it's the greatest. But time needs to pass to give some perspective before it is compared to other great matches.

You're right. You can only say that a match was "one of the best ever" after a number of months or years, when look back and realize how significant it was. A great match is fantastic to watch, but the best ever matches combine great play with some overall significance that you can't really assess or realize without hindsight.
