Winclone and Windows serial

Hi, if I use Winclone to transfer my Windows installation from my Mac Mini (to be sold) to my new MacBook Pro (BTW can i do that if the hardware is different??), do I have to enter the Windows serial again?
Asking because I have a OEM Windows version and I hear that you can install multiple times but only on the same machine.

I don't know if it has changed now, but last year when I used Winclone, I had to re enter the serial into my Windows installation.
I tried installing from a Mac mini onto an iMac and it worked, but there are different bootcamp drivers for different computers, so expect to fix that by yourself....

Windows 7 or earlier you might get away with it
If it's Windows 8 or higher you'll have a problem.

Thanks both. I thought that the drivers would be different, probably a fresh install is better.
