I have Win10 on bootcamp and the software says it needs to update I believe to 16299. It takes hours to download the update then it boots into an install screen which starts with a % but after sometimes it just reboots and says its restoring the older version and then a new notification comes up saying new windows updates availible.

Anyone understands whats going on here? This is the cycle of death

Tanagra (not really)
You might try going into Explorer, right clicking your Windows drive, properties, and then "Disk Cleanup." Once you get to the screen that allows you to check what items to cleanup, select "Delivery Optimization Files" and then let it run. These are the files Windows Update downloads, and maybe something was corrupted. Once it's done, try to rerun the update.

I’m not sure if that matters. I know some later updates to MacOS helped with Windows 10 updates, but I don’t know if they are critical for the Windows updates to work. Do you have the bootcamp drivers installed?
