Must be the only manufacturer who would leave out its supposed 'flagship' from an update / preview over every single budget and mid level device.

The Icon is exclusive to Verizon. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

Also do not see the HTC M8 Windows phone or the Samsung ativ

They gave a reason. The 930/Icon has a unique size/screen resolution that has caused them trouble with the preview so far.

But the 1520 has same resolution at least ? Just means at the moment I can't stoke up the 930 on the shelf and give it a shiny new os.

Yes, but the 1520 also has a different sized screen. I think it's the combo of screen size and resolution, big one of them specifically. That's what Aul said on Windows Weekly anyway.

This is a Lumia only update. HTC and Samsung phones are not being updated by Microsoft.

I saw this on Windows Weekly with Paul Thurrott. MS is rolling out to a much larger audience for the next tech preview.

The Icon/930 is the exception as noted due to the screen/resolution

Well, in usual MS fashion, the servers weren't configured correctly for all new devices receiving the update, so they were taken down and reconfigured. Update started rolling out for me at 5:20pm EST on my Lumia 925.

After using WP10 for a couple hours now, you can def tell it is still a Beta (rough Beta at that!) and needs quite a bit of work.

I'm on a Lumia 925 with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of free space (not a lot of apps) and the UI is sluggish, the Spartan web browser needs quite a bit of work, especially on scaling properly for webpages, the Settings UI is now bloated and not as intuitive as it was, menu's and app info overlaps on the notification tab at top, the new notification tab font is crappy thin block lettering and icons...

I know it will get better before release, but I would not do it if you are on your primary phone. Way too many bugs right now!

I have it on my Lumia now, MS had server issues that delayed the roll out for many folks. I was one of them. The latest build looks good and has some interesting features, I like the setting screens, a lot cleaner and easier to follow.

Email has changed, and now its under a unified outlook app, again looks clean. I'm not sure why they didn't use transparent tiles for outlook, Seems to go against the grain.

Still some rough edges, including messaging.

Really great to see this build rolling out to a larger amount of devices this time around. I installed it on Friday as soon as I was able to, and i've been playing around with it since. I'm liking the additions and changes with the UI and with the Outlook Calendar, Outlook Email, People, and more redesigned settings pages. I agree with what Paul Thurrott said though, it's a buggy, visual mess, and definately incomplete.

That said, I'm really interested to see the changes with Windows 10 for Phone (I'll still call it Windows Phone 10) and will be installing each build on my 635 up until it's full release. I'm liking the overall direction with Windows 10 so far. I'm thinking about picking up a 1520 to have a better experience with Windows 10 once it's released.

I really like where its heading, but I agree its very buggy at the moment. The core services work (barely). My Facebook app doesn't work and other apps just sit there.

Some of the text seems a little too small though, for instance, they decreased the size of keyboard.

I totally noticed the same thing, OneNote in my case has completely broken, and I see visual artifacts and items that seem out of place a lot. I'm really interested to see where this goes, I'm hoping we'll see stability increases and some major UI finishing touches in the next updates.

Edit: What device are you testing on maflynn?

On a Lumia 925, for the most part it's "ok". Miss the tile set up for contacts, having issues with Outlook not getting messages from one of my Gmail accounts. Fonts for some apps have gotten a lot smaller, problem for older eyes. Flashlight X won't work at all.

Tried to roll back to 8.1, there's an app for that. Unfortunately, on the only Windows computer I have the app was crazier than a sprayed roach, stuck with 10 for the moment. Will go back to 8.1 as soon as possible, 10 doesn't add any functionality I need, and I lost some thing I like.

EDIT. I figured out how to get larger fonts, but they seem to want scale properly

Now that I switched to the S6 Edge, I'm going to load this on my 1520! Love WP. Hope 10 gets more devs on board.

Yeah, its not ready if your WP is your main phone. There's just too many issues, but I do like what I see.

I'm curious, how do you like the 830? I've currently got a Lumia 635 as my main "Windows Phone" device and I'm looking to update to something better in the near future.
